Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need an interior designer or the cost?
It’s true what they say, you can’t afford NOT to hire an interior designer. As a designer, I save you time, money, and regret. You benefit from my experience as you invest in your home and increase its quality, equity, and resale value. Assembling a well-thought-out design, project management, and sourcing products is time-consuming! With trade account pricing and access across a range of products - appliances, furniture, lighting, fabric, wallpaper, etc - combined with access to preferred, vetted contractors and vendors, I stretch your budget to achieve our shared vision for your space. In addition to being able to see your space with a fresh perspective, including unrealized potential and costly pitfalls, I optimize the distribution of your budget to maximize the outcomes and lessen the likelihood of mistakes or delays.
Can you design to any style?
I can work with you to design to a style that suits you and the way you really want to live. One of the first steps in the process is identifying your style. This interactive collaboration is a must-do to ensure I tailor recommendations to achieve your desired outcome - whatever it may be… traditional, mid-century, modern farmhouse, eclectic, coastal, etc. Your style provides guidance and focus for every decision that needs to be made throughout the process.
Can we work together on a design that I implement myself?
Every project and client is different. I tailor my services to your needs and budget. While many clients need help from start to finish - recommendations, sourcing, purchasing, and installation - you can opt to implement my recommendations with your own providers.
How does your design process work?
While each project varies, there is often a pattern to the process and it generally includes the following sequential steps: initial consultation, recommendations, an estimate meeting, sourcing, purchasing and production, implementation, and installation.
Do you have design packages?
Design packages or hourly rates are available based on the scope of your project and the extent of your needs. Clients with large, multiphase renovation or remodeling projects often benefit from a flat fee approach and those with smaller single room projects often benefit from an hourly rate applied to services a la cart. Regardless of which option you choose, an estimate of costs is provided along with initial recommendations.
